HDR Image Enhancement Feature

HDR (High Dynamic Range) Image Enhancement is a feature some non-cellular model trail cameras are equipped with. To locate cameras with this feature you should see 'HDR Night Images' or 'HDR Image Enhancement' on the cameras packaging along with the HDR technology symbol:

Q: How does the HDR feature work, and are there any limitations I should be aware of?

When using the HDR feature, please keep the following in mind:

  • HDR applies to nighttime images only — it does not affect video recordings.
  • HDR is not compatible with Multi-Shot mode. On some models equipped with this feature if you select any Multi-Shot setting other than "Off," HDR will be automatically disabled.
  • On some camera models, enabling HDR and then choosing a Multi-Shot option will cause the HDR setting to turn off automatically.
  • Conversely, if Multi-Shot is active and HDR is off, you will not be able to turn HDR on until Multi-Shot is disabled.

To ensure HDR works as expected, use it in Single image mode only for the best nighttime still images.
